Dental Surgery Treatment

Surgery, especially dental surgery elicits fear and apprehension. Patients have a myth that dental treatment is painful.
It starts with the injection which is a technique that has been developed by Dr. Mukul Dabholkar at the International Centre for Dental Care (ICDC). We first apply a gel prior to the injection, which makes the area numb and the injection is no longer painful.
In fact, in addition to using the excellent techniques which Dr. Mukul has developed, ICDC has a machine namely the WAND to ensure a painless injection in painful areas. Any surgery in competent hands ensures no pain after the injection, minimum time, minimum swelling, minimum discomfort, and minimum swelling post surgery. All these are controlled by medicines depending on the physicians’ expertise and the use of lasers to reduce the healing time and make the experience painless.
The myth that dental surgeries are painful is instilled in childhood with the Dentist as the Boogieman while treating a child. The child sees the fear on the mother’s face and experiences so-called pain which is embedded in the psyche when he/she grows up. In fact, children cry only after removal of the tooth and on seeing and tasting blood, as the process was painless.
ICDC has equipment which places an implant without cutting the gums in less than six minutes with no blood and stitches. There are only four of these laser-guided real-time machines in India. Root Canals are done at ICDC in thirty minutes painlessly. Lasers ensure painless cutting of the gums and promote healing of blisters and in aphthous ulcers by reducing the pain and the blister cycle from fourteen days to three days with over ninety percent relief in all the areas mentioned above. This is a paradigm shift in modern Dentistry.
