Teeth Straightening

A beautiful smile definitely boosts your self confidence and impacts the overall quality of your life. But unfortunately not everyone is born with a perfect smile. Many are born with crooked teeth; in others it becomes crooked with age or tooth loss that causes remaining tooth to move etc. When you think about straightening your teeth the first thing that comes to your mind is metal braces. But today there is more to tooth straightening than just braces. Reasons for having teeth straightened are as individual as the treatment plan involved. Some may get it done to improve self confidence and looks while others get it done to improve their bite or to make cleaning easier. Whatever be the reason, today we have with us so many options that makes orthodontic treatment barely noticeable.
At Dr. Mukul Dabholkar’s Dental Clinic we assess your specific needs and based on that our specialist orthodontist recommends the best teeth straightening option for you.
Invisalign: It is the latest and the most popular method of straightening your teeth without the need of visible wires. It is made up of a series of clear removable teeth aligners that is worn everyday to straighten the teeth. It is completely transparent and is changed every two weeks. If you think Invisalign is right for you or to know more about it talk to our dentists today.
Six Month Smile: It is also one of the latest methods of treatment that uses clear braces and tooth coloured wires and brackets to gently move your teeth into the desired position. It is mainly done for cosmetic reasons as it focuses on only those teeth that are visible when you smile. Orthodontic treatments that usually require 18 -24 months to complete are usually done in six months time frame. Our dentist would discuss with you if Six Month Smile is the right option for you
Lingual Braces: They are similar to the ordinary wired braces but they are stuck to the inside of the teeth and are not visible. They are a perfect solution to straighten your teeth without anybody detecting it but are highly uncomfortable and difficult to get accustomed to. They are fixed braces that can correct severe orthodontic cases and can be removed only by your orthodontist on completion of treatment
Orthodontic Metal Braces: They are the traditional way to straighten your teeth in which metal or ceramic brackets are attached to the upper and lower teeth in the front and threaded with wires. These wires are tightened over time which applies a gentle pressure on the teeth that encourages the teeth to move in position. Time taken for treatment depends on how much teeth needs to be moved. Talk to our dentist to know your options.
Inman Aligner: It is typically a cross between Invisalign and metal braces as it is not invisible (like metal braces) but relies on using removable aligners o move the teeth quickly (similar to Invisalign). It applies a gentle pressure on the tooth to be moved and once moved uses retainers to hold it in place.
